Egypt is looking to attract further investment into its exploration scene with the recent opening of two bid rounds:
Ganoub El Wadi Holding Petroleum Company (Ganope) was first to announce its latest bid round in December 2014, and has recently extended the closing date for bids until 31st May 2015. The offer involves 10 blocks located in areas around the southern tip of the Gulf of Suez and the Eastern Desert. Visit the Ganope website for further details.
The second, more recently announced by Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), involves eight blocks located offshore in the Nile Delta region, and also has a closing date of 31st May 2015. Visit the EGAS website.

Lynx Information Systems Ltd and partner Fairway Exploration have recently undertaken an extensive review of exploration results and activity in Egypt over the past three years, which although subdued in part by political turmoil, has yielded further insights into it’s hydrocarbon potential.
